The Neve 1081 Classic is a faithful reproduction of the famous original 1081 mic pre and EQ module.
First developed in the early 1970s, the 1081 was first designed to be a combo mic and line pre and EQ module for the modular Neve consoles of the 70s. Still being used to great effect, the original modular consoles have legendary status in the recording industry. Just look a the stir caused by Paul Epworth's incredible EMI Neve console loaded with 1091 modules at Miloco's The Church Studio 1. As a truly classic module, the 1081 has been a key ingredient in an almost countless number of productions and mixes over the years. With original units fetching incredible sums of money on the used market, the Neve 1081 Classic is here to provide that incredible sound to a new generation of engineers and producers.
Hand-built by Neve in England, the Neve 1081 Classic is made in a very similar way to the original, using the original transformers and components, and the same construction methods that made the original unit so popular, and contributed to its endurance throughout the years as an incredible piece of recording equipment.
