Bricasti Design have taken the reverb world be storm recently. No doubt this is due to the supreme sound of their flagship reverb – the Bricasti M7.

Favoured by producers such as Mike Crossey, and at home in Miloco Studios such as Livingston and Westpoint, it’s easy to hear why the Bricasti M7 has become such a popular choice among professionals for outboard reverbs. The Bricasti M7 is a high performance outboard digital reverberation unit, housing a processor dedicated only to reverb. It utilises a huge array of cutting edge DSP processors, and represents the next step in reverb algorithms.

The Bricasti M7 has a separate analogue section, with a transformer dedicated to the power supply, combining to provide a very high spec analogue component to the M7. The build quality is exception on the Bricasti; the housing is solid steel, and the front panel is aluminium. A sharp and bright display combines with simple and efficient interface design for maximum ease of use.

The M7 comes out of the box with 100 pre-programmed presets, and 50 spaces for user programmed algorithm. It features the ability to access four “favourite” presets. There are 12 adjustable parameters for each program, allowing you to adjust each preset to a good degree.

The input control is all-analgue, and is adjusted in 2db steps. In the digital domain, clocking comes from 44.1kHz up to 192kHz, with exceptionally low jitter. Noise is incredibly low, and the frequency response is with ± 0.05 dB between 10Hz and 20kHz.

With the advances in software and plugins you’d be forgiven for thinking that hardware reverb units are a thing of the past. One run through the presets on the Bricasti M7 however and you’ll understand just how advanced this unit is. The M7 really can’t be beaten as an algorithm reverb, least of all by its software counterparts.
