The Crane Song Avocet II is the 4th generation of the unique and versatile high-end monitor and volume controller. Used by a number of Miloco clients such as Mike Crossey at Livingston Studios, Philippe Weiss at The Red Room and Miloco favourite Richard X, such prestige is testament enough to the quality and reliability of the Avocet as a versatile and high quality monitor controller.
When developing the Crane Song Avocet II, the designers over at Crane Song wanted to solve a number of problems associated with existing monitor controllers on the market. Chief among which is the kind of accuracy and control over volume that is required in recording studio and mastering suites the world over. The Crane Song Avocet II has multiple features, that include buttons for mono, phase, mute and dim, along with 16bit truncation functions. The speaker select feature allows the user to send line level balanced audio to one of three outs. The Avocet has a total of 6 input sources with gain trim, and up-sampled and jitter reduced digital signals to allow for high accuracy turing digital to analogue conversion.
There is also a headphone amp, which can feed from the source or from an external in.
