Crane Song HEDD 192 stands for “Harmonically Enhanced Digital Device”, and is heralded as a breakthrough in digital signal processing. It is manufactured to produce sonically pleasing audio, with the possibilities of generating valve or analogue sounds within the digital realm. The Crane Song HEDD allows any user the ability to make their work sound less digital and more analogue.

On the front, the controls on the Crane Song HEDD 192 have options to choose input source and sample rate, and can continuously vary triode and pentode sonics. The unit can be used as a standalone processor, or as a completely separate analogue to digital or digital to analogue convertor. The harmonic generation can be added to either the analogue to digital or the digital to analogue conversion. In terms of bit depth, the DSP applies 24 bit processing on either analogue or digital sources.

The Crane Song HEDD uses transformerless balanced analogue ins and outs, isolated digital ins and outs, and has separate transformers and power supplies for the analogue and digital sections. Sample rates can range from 44.1k to 192k.

The HEDD can be used on a huge range of applications, from CD prep to effects processing, recording to mixing and even high end mastering.
