The DPA 4006A is a small diaphragm omnidirectional cardioid mic, and is by far the most popular microphone in DPA’s range. The original B&K 4006 is popular with producers such as Ben Hillier and Paul Epworth at Miloco’s The Pool and The Church recording studios. Naturally when DPA took over from B&K in 1992 one of their first priorities was to continue the success of the 4006.

The DPA 4006A can attribute its popularity mainly to its versatility, complete transparency and build quality. The incredible definition of the high frequency response, along with beautiful detail and definition in its sonic reproduction makes the 4006A a highly sought after mic by engineers and producers the world over.
