This is a stunning and rare BBC Marconi Type A Ribbon microphone.
Originally build by the BBC as an alternative to an RCA model 44, the Type A has become somewhat of a cultural icon since its invention in the 1940s. This mic is fully functional and ready to use on sessions, having been used in a private studio for the last 9 years. It's a stunning piece with a unique sound, quite different to an RCA or a Coles. It's also built to last and very heavy!
